short & sweet

February is the shortest..and sweetest month. Guess what that means? It is time for our *annual
Short & Sweet Sale!
~
Sale will end at noon (PST) on Monday, the 28th.
~
Head on over to Sweet Petula and check out the SALE section. In addition to some great deals on existing favorites, I've loaded up the shop with some brand new SPRING scents. The star of the show? My new favorite, Wild Flowers & Honey, shea butter soap. I love this scent. It is definitely floral & feminine, but also very fresh and clean. The two other new spring scents are; Aloe Leaf & Mint, and Sweet Pea & Clover.
Get one of each on SALE in a sweet gift pack.

*I forgot to do it last year.

lazy sunday.

After yesterday's hurricane, I was amazed to wake up this morning to see this. How lucky I am to live in such a beautiful city.

Spring! I think it's getting ready to sprung.

View from the other end of my neighborhood. I want to take a trip to one of the Islands this summer. Any good suggestions?

Happy resting spot.

I had the pink one. yum. Now I'm going to spend the next 11 hours doing absolutely nothing.

love is in the air.....

Thanks so much to my pal Heidi, of Haute Goat this past week for some wonderful (free) Sweet Petula advertising! You can see the post here....and a darling photo of Heidi working her flower job...at Valentine's Day. There is a discount code at the end for 25% off at Sweet Petula.
{it expires this Sunday afternoon}
Have a great weekend everyone!

i have a valentine for you.

{my Love Potion No. 9 soap sitting on top of the coolest book. Have you heard of *Rob Ryan?}

Happy Valentine's Day (weekend) everyone!
For the record, I think Valentine's Day is a little played out.....all the pressure to be in a relationship and to celebrate the fact on February 14th, in a very specific way.
But I do love, love......so here is a little Valentine from me to you.
{but don't get any funny ideas...I think we should just be friends}
Stop by Capers in West Seattle before Monday, and with any Sweet Petula purchase, the nice ladies behind the counter will throw in a bar of my Love Potion No. 9 soap.

*I love Rob Ryan! He is an amazing paper artist that uses lasers to cut and design images. My favorite is "Can We Shall We." It is a special laser cut he made just for Valentine's Day. You can see many of his images in the book I mentioned above. It is also available at Capers.
"Can We? Shall We? One day very soon, let us go away together, just you and me. Can We? Shall We? Call in sick one day and travel to the sea and hold hands all day. Can We? Shall We? Eat our sandwiches on the train, get drunk on fresh air and come home tired and never tell anyone...Ever."
xoxo.

New Year's Resolution

"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful" - William Morris~
I do pretty well with keeping things simple. (my "stuff" pile anyway) But I'm wanting to pare down even further. Get rid of the extraneous and anything that does not please me. It's sort of like your underwear drawer. You know how you have your favorite pair? The style you always reach for that make you feel great? And how there are about 6-10 other pairs in there you only wear on wash day? Why not get rid of them? I'm thinking everyday should be favorite panty day.

We have a WINNER! (three actually!)

I tricked you when I said I was picking A winner for these earrings by Trillium....I'm picking three! Thanks to everyone who submitted your favorite holiday traditions. I chose my three favorites...and here they are:

#1 Jen for her tradition
"My favorite tradition is being Elfy and Elfo with my sister for our 2 nieces. For the past 10 years Elfy and Elfo (2 of Santa's elves) have been sending and leaving little gifts for Maya and Grace during the several weeks leading up to Christmas." Thanks for sharing Jen! And thank you for teaching me the word/name Elfo...I plan on using it. A lot. I also have to admit, that when I went to your blog to find your contact info, I came across this photo of Mr. T. Quite frankly, Mr. T tipped the scales in your winning direction.

best. costume. ever.

Winner #2 Gets these great gold dangles...drum roll please.....Myisha! You Win! I loved your tradition of picking themes for the celebration. Great idea.

And our last (but not least) winner is Celeste B. Celeste won these snowflake earrings from Trillium. Her winning tradition is dressing up her dog Ollie in sweaters, drinking hot cider, and listening to non-traditional Christmas music. I love it!
So...big winners, message me with your address and I'll send you your prizes.
Happy Holidays Everyone!

Field Trip!

Today I headed out to Olde Burien to visit some of my old friends and sell Sweet Petula at a trunk show. Olde Burien is where my first shop was located. I love Olde Burien! People who don't know about this great little area are often shocked at how cool it is. I have such good memories of this neighborhood. My trunk show was at Zizia, which is the old Sweet Petula. The photo above is of the Danish Bakery mascot, which is directly next door....dangerous.
(fyi: this is one of the best places within miles of Seattle to buy a birthday cake...the only trick is convincing the owner, Lola, to make it!)

Olde Burien, Washington 98168
(for the record I HATE the "Olde"...it was "Old" for years. We voted. My side didn't win. I hate the "Olde"...but I guess I already mentioned that.)

More Zizia

I love these! They are baby t-shirts that predict the future of your child!
