new solid perfume formulations

I've spent the last few weeks working on a new solid perfume recipe. The new formula is 100% vegan (the last one had beeswax in it.) And the scents are more concentrated.

You can see the 5 different scents we have available here. One is brand spanking new, Sweet Lily Blossom, and really my newest favorite thing. A bunch of you that attended Girls Night Out last week got a preview of this fragrance.

I've also discontinued Pink Garden Rose & Day Dream (these scents will still be available in the shea butter soaps, so don't fret.) If your interested in the last few of these, they can be found here.

Just finished up a new Christmas candle....these little lovelies are divine. A combination of spruce, cinnamon, & balsam fir this limited addition candle is my newest favorite thing. I burned one last night and the container is so beautiful & glowy (yes that is a word) when the candle is lit. I'm honestly not sure when I've been this excited about a new Sweet Petula product. I love these! Or maybe I just love Christmas. Currently, I only have 25 in stock (my pal Lisa over at Capers in West Seattle has 20+ as well)...more to come in a two weeks.

Bonjour Monsieur

I'm working on a new scent blend called..."Bonjour Monsieur". It's a combination of roasted tea leaves, tobacco, cedarwood & Sicilian lemon. & when I find the man that smells sortof like that...I'm going to walk up to him & say, "Bonjour Monsieur".

Custom Perfume Event at Sweet Petula

Our last custom event went so well...we had to do it again. Join us for herbal inspired cocktails (I'm thinking lavender vodka or vanilla bourbon? any suggestions?), perfume samples & handmade custom perfumes by local perfumer, Sweet Anthem. Custom blends are $25 and pre-registration is recommended...although we would love you to just stop by as well. Meredith (Sweet Anthem herself), brings tons of oils for you to smell & blend. She guides you through the process seamlessly. I love my last concoction....Grapefruit, Violet, Ambergris & Sandalwood...I'll wear it Thursday...you can smell me!

My newest product addition....Botanical Solid Perfumes were on the front page of Etsy last night. Front page action is always good for sales and the treasury was really pretty. The theme was "Inspired by June Weddings". Unfortunately, it was while I was sleeping, so the perfumes sold out before I could list more. But they are re-stocked now. Go here to see.

Hey everyone, I've been busy moving. I have a super cute new pad & I plan on posting some of my finished decorating pictures soon. One of my lovely friends, Kristine of Flourish brought me a little housewarming gift which included a little book called, "Fortune-Telling Book of Dreams". The first night I slept in my new place, I had a dream that included a huge closet full of shoes, a super sexy man on my arm & a doorman. Currently, my apartment comes with none of these things...but according to my new book I am going to actulize my goals in my positive change of circumstance...with a super sexy man on my arm.

Sweet Anthem is a perfumery based in Seattle, WA run by designer Meredith Tucker. Her perfumes contain a mix of luxurious essential and fragrance oils. They are diluted in jojoba or evening primrose oil which provide a silky texture on the skin. This formulation helps create a long-lasting, divine fragrance experience.
With each new perfume, Meredith creates tributes to women that she admires; be they fictional, famous, or just some of her close friends. You may recognize some of them. *I'm waiting for the "Cordelia" hint hint Meredith...Others you might not. Regardless, they are each deserved of a fragrance of their own. Why must such prestige be reserved for supermodels and celebrities?

My New Year's Resolution to simplify came early this year.

I have decided to close the Madison Valley store. The Pioneer Square location is now open and the back half is where we manufacture our products. There is now an area in the front just for retail. It is a great little spot (think Petite Petula), and I'm very excited to have just one place I need to be everyday.

Thanks to everyone who has shopped in Madison Valley. I really appreciate your support and hope you continue to visit us downtown as Sweet Petula grows.

In the meantime, we are having a sale at Sweet Petula/Madison. Everything is 20% off and all Bedding & Furniture is 30% off.
