i smell christmas

Just finished up a new Christmas candle....these little lovelies are divine. A combination of spruce, cinnamon, & balsam fir this limited addition candle is my newest favorite thing. I burned one last night and the container is so beautiful & glowy (yes that is a word) when the candle is lit. I'm honestly not sure when I've been this excited about a new Sweet Petula product. I love these! Or maybe I just love Christmas. Currently, I only have 25 in stock (my pal Lisa over at Capers in West Seattle has 20+ as well)...more to come in a two weeks.

I heart FDR.

(This isn't about Eleanor...I just like the photo)
~
I just completed three tasks I've been dreading for months. Basically, these tasks were just phone calls that have given me hours of stress and sleepless nights. Phone calls that have been on my "to-do" list for days...weeks...actually months. Then yesterday I wrote them down (again) on another "to-do" list and decided that I would do nothing until these dreaded calls were made. And I did! And they are done. And they were so easy. A piece of cake really. It got me thinking about that Franklin Roosevelt saying, "there is nothing to fear but fear itself"...and I decided to look up the quote to figure what it is all about.
~
He said the words during one of his inaugural speeches and they were, "so, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself - nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance." Apparently, he was talking about the economic conditions of the time (not dreaded phone calls)...but it applies to me and my calls. And I've now decided to put "let go of nameless, unreasoning, unjustified thoughts" at the top of my daily to-do list.

Bonjour Monsieur

I'm working on a new scent blend called..."Bonjour Monsieur". It's a combination of roasted tea leaves, tobacco, cedarwood & Sicilian lemon. & when I find the man that smells sortof like that...I'm going to walk up to him & say, "Bonjour Monsieur".
